HOW TO USE?
Heat BioEpil in a water bath or microwave to approximately body temperature (it should feel warm to the touch but not hot, with a consistency similar to chewing gum). Take an amount about the size of a walnut. Apply in one stroke onto dry skin against the direction of hair growth in a thin layer about 1 mm thick, ensuring the paste remains compact. Leave on briefly, then pull off sharply in the direction of hair growth.
DETAILED BIOEPIL INSTRUCTIONS & TIPS & TRICKS
1. BEFORE YOU START
- If you shave regularly, allow hair to grow to at least 5 mm.
- Sometimes the skin on the legs may be too dry. In that case, it is recommended to perform a peeling or loofah massage 2 days before depilation and nourish the skin with body lotion. BioEpil will then adhere better to the skin and be easier to work with.
2. PREPARATION OF BIOEPIL DEPILATORY PASTE
The BioEpil depilatory paste must be heated to approximately body temperature so that it feels warm to the touch but does not burn, with a consistency similar to chewing gum or thicker honey.
HOW TO HEAT THE PASTE:
- Water bath: Usually hot tap water filled in a sink is sufficient. To speed up the process, you can heat water in a small pot to approx. 90°C and let the paste warm for several minutes. The heating time depends on the water temperature. Submerge BioEpil into the hot water up to just below the edge of the white lid.
- Microwave: Place BioEpil in the microwave for 8 seconds.
- Warming in hands: In warm weather, BioEpil can be kneaded several times between fingers until it softens and becomes easy to work with.
3. APPLICATION
- Clean the skin thoroughly, preferably wash with soap or shower gel to remove grease, and dry very well.
- Special TIP: It is essential that the skin is completely dry when applying the sugar paste. Applying powder (e.g. baby powder) to the depilated areas will make depilation easier.
- Remove the required amount of BioEpil from the jar using a wooden spatula or spoon. Start with a smaller amount, about the size of a walnut.
- Apply the paste using fingertips or a spatula with gentle pressure against the direction of hair growth.
- Apply BioEpil in a relatively thin layer (2–3 mm).
- For better adhesion, go over the paste 3 times (as if massaging it) against the direction of hair growth to allow BioEpil to properly catch the hairs. There is no need to stretch the skin as with warm wax.
- Do not use your whole palm – fingertips or the surface of the spatula are sufficient.
- Pull sharply in the direction of hair growth, similar to removing a painless adhesive strip. Pull as quickly as possible and as parallel to the skin surface as possible. Do not pull upwards. The applied paste does not need to be removed all at once but gradually in sections.
- With quick removal of the sugar paste (always in the direction of hair growth), hairs are removed together with the root and stick to the sugar paste.
- Repeat until the depilated area is completely hair-free. The same portion of paste can be reused on other body parts (replace the paste only when it starts tearing and changes color).
- The biggest secret lies in the hand movement itself – it must be a quick flick in the direction of hair growth, not a slow pull.
- TIP: If you find it difficult to work with a spatula or fingers, try using a regular table knife – find what works best for you 😉
- Start depilation on the legs, where the skin is less sensitive.
4. AFTERCARE
- Any remaining paste can be easily washed off with lukewarm water.
- Even though BioEpil depilation is gentle, the skin may be slightly irritated and deserves some extra care.
- Spray the skin with pure PURITY VISION® Rose Water or apply pure aloe vera gel or alva Regenerating Spray.
- After a short while, nourish and hydrate the skin. We recommend PURITY VISION® Bio Coconut Oil or, for example, natural lavera Body Lotion BIO lavender – BIO aloe vera from the Body SPA range.
- Against ingrown hairs: Perform peeling 1–2 times a week and regularly use body lotion to prevent dryness.
5. WHAT TO DO IF IT DOESN’T WORK?
The paste removes only a few hairs. Possible reasons:
- The paste removes only a few hairs. Possible reasons: 1. The paste is not warm enough. 2. The paste has not adhered sufficiently to the hairs – try “massaging” it more firmly into the skin and wait a few seconds. 3. The skin is damp (even sweaty hands or the depilated area are enough). 4. The skin is greasy – wash with soap or shower gel and dry thoroughly.
- The paste slides off and is not sticky. Possible reasons: 1. Damp or sweaty skin or hands. 2. Greasy skin – wash and dry thoroughly.
- Applying the paste is painful. Possible reason: The paste is too firm – heat it more.
- The paste tears. Possible reason: It has probably been used for too long and contains too many hairs or skin residues.
- The paste cannot be removed: It may be overheated or removed incorrectly. Either wait until it firms up, or use another technique: Apply the sugar paste in a thin layer (e.g. with a table knife) in the direction of hair growth. Place a cotton fabric strip (e.g. a piece of sheet, towel, or tissue), press several times, then pull sharply AGAINST the direction of hair growth.
Don’t stress ;-), the skin or hands may start sweating, body temperature may rise, and the paste may begin sticking to your hands.
PS: Don’t give up – it just takes practice and patience. The result is worth it!
