Why You Should Never Skip Double Cleansing Double cleansing is not just for makeup lovers. Even if you’re not wearing makeup in the evening, your skin still needs to be freed from sebum, sweat, and airborne impurities that have settled on it throughout the day. These layers create a kind of barrier that prevents active ingredients in skincare from penetrating the skin. Only after double cleansing do the pores open and the skin becomes ready to absorb everything you apply. How to Do Double Cleansing 1️⃣ First Step – Oil Balm, Cleansing Gel or Cleansing Oil The first phase of double cleansing focuses on dissolving makeup, SPF products, excess sebum, and other impurities. One day your legs are smooth, your underarms shaved, or your bikini line freshly groomed – and a few days later, bumps, itching, and hairs curling back under the skin instead of growing outward appear. The skin becomes red, itchy, and sometimes even painful. Fortunately, it’s easy to prevent. You just need to know a few effective steps that will keep your skin beautifully soft and smooth. WHAT CAUSES INGROWN HAIRS? Ingrown hairs are often caused by a layer of dead skin cells that prevents the hair from breaking through. If you add irritation from shaving or epilation, dry skin, and tight clothing, you get the perfect environment for bumps and ingrown hairs. Technique matters a lot too – shaving against the direction of growth, using a dull razor, or unnecessarily stretching the skin can cause the hair to be cut at an angle and curl back under the skin.
